Are You Looking for an Alternative to Braces? We Offer Invisalign in Cave Creek!
If you have crooked, crowded, or misaligned teeth, you already know that these issues affect the aesthetics of your smile. What you may not know is that they can also negatively impact your oral health by making it harder to clean your teeth properly, which puts you at higher risk for tooth decay and gum disease. Our Invisalign dentists can help you achieve a beautiful, healthy smile using the revolutionary Invisalign aligner system.
What Makes Invisalign in Cave Creek Different?
Unlike traditional braces that use brackets and wires to realign the teeth, Invisalign in Cave Creek uses custom-fitted aligner trays that fit over your teeth. The aligners are made from clear plastic, which makes them perfect for teens and adults looking for a virtually invisible treatment alternative. The trays place targeted pressure on the teeth to gradually straighten, rotate, and reposition them into proper alignment.
What Happens During Invisalign Treatment?
After a comprehensive dental exam to determine if Invisalign is the appropriate treatment for your unique dental issues, we will take impressions, X-rays, and photos of your teeth in order to create your custom-fitted aligners. Most patients wear their aligners for 22 to 23 hours a day and only take them out to eat and clean their teeth. You move to a new set of aligners every couple of weeks. When you reach the end of your series of aligners, your dentist may recommend that you wear Invisalign retainers to ensure that your teeth remain in their new position.
How Much Will My Invisalign Cost?
Our dentists and staff will do everything possible to make sure that your Invisalign cost is as affordable as possible. Since each individual’s dental issues are unique, the cost can vary from patient to patient. Following your consultation, we will provide you with an estimate of your Invisalign cost, based on the severity of your dental issues and the anticipated length of your treatment. If you have a dental plan, a significant portion of your cost may be covered by Invisalign insurance. We recommend that patients contact their insurer prior to their consultation to determine the extent of their Invisalign coverage. We also offer several payment and financing options to help with any out-of-pocket expenses. Call today for more information.
How Long Does Aligner Treatment Take?
Depending on how much your teeth need to be repositioned and your compliance with the treatment regimen, aligner treatment can take anywhere from 10 months to two years. Most adult patients wear their aligners for approximately a year. The treatment times for our teen patients tend to vary more. Your dentist will be able to give you a better idea of your anticipated treatment time once he or she has assessed your orthodontic issues.
Are Your Invisalign Dentists Experienced?
All dentists who offer Invisalign must complete training in the use of aligners to treat orthodontic issues. Our Invisalign dentists have the knowledge and expertise to help you achieve the best results in the least amount of time. Call today to schedule your consultation.
What Should I Consider When Deciding Between Invisalign vs. Braces?
Most patients are attracted to the Invisalign system because of aesthetic concerns. They are typically at a point in their lives where they don’t want a mouth full of metal to be the first thing that people notice about them. The effectiveness of the treatment is an even bigger consideration. The Invisalign system is ideal for correcting mild to moderate crowding, spacing, and malocclusion issues and straightening crooked teeth. If you have extensive or complex orthodontic problems, however, treatment using traditional braces may be faster and more effective. We generally do not recommend Invisalign for children since their issues tend to be more complex. Young children may also lack the maturity and discipline necessary to care for their aligners and wear them as directed. Our dentist will help you decide if Invisalign is the right treatment for you.
What Advantages Can I Expect with Invisalign vs. Braces?
In addition to having a metal-free smile, aligners offer a number of benefits over braces, including:
- Comfort: There are no wires or brackets to irritate the inside of your mouth.
- Better Oral Hygiene: You remove the aligners to brush and floss your teeth, which reduces your chances of developing cavities or gum disease.
- Convenience: You only have to visit our office every four to six weeks to make sure that your treatment is progressing properly.
- No Dietary Restrictions: You are free to eat all of your favorite foods.
What Is the Process for Caring for Aligner Trays?
You should clean your aligners daily using a manufacturer-approved cleaning system or by brushing the trays and rinsing them in cool or lukewarm water.
